Last saturday was the opening day of rifle deer season, and I was ready. The girls were excited, too, for another trip to the farm. I was really serious about hunting this year as Matt got me a new deer rifle for christmas last year. I had the whole week blocked out to hunt, and Matt even took some days off of work to be prepared to watch the girls so I could hunt. It only took a couple hours on opening morning, however, for me to get my big buck! We had a lot of footage of this one on our motion sensor cameras, so I knew that it was a shooter. It was a quick and easy kill. Even more exciting were kills of nice bucks by brothers-in-law Rodney and Chris on opening weekend and niece Abi as well! I also got the chance to take a doe on sunday and donate it to the share the harvest program for the local food bank. Jenna was excited about mommy getting a big buck, I think she'll be ready to start hunting in a few more years.
